Looking for some stylish prescription spec’s? well look no further.
It’s great to see two new online spec shops arrive on the scene. Both offering super affordable yet ultra stylish styles – with a customer service experience to boot! Oscar Wylee and Bailey Nelson are set to shake up the optical industry.
Quite simply they cut out the “middle man” and send you your specs direct, hence saving you loads of money. They offer a vast selection of glasses for both men and women. They use taditional hand-production methods combined with the finest Italian materials. The most amazing thing about it is, a set of frames will only cost you $98. They will send you 5 pairs to try on at home (for free), no obligation to buy and shipping both ways is free. My favourite styles include: Darwin, Overton, Jarvis and Frye.

Bailey Nelson also offer fast fashion options for both men and women. They will deliver to your door within 72 hours. Bailey Nelson frames are priced between $95-$195. Check them out www.baileynelson.com.au
While on the topic of specs, The 2012 Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition, is now underway to find Australia’s best framed fashionistas – with style icon and proud spec-wearer, Christina Hendricks from Mad Men, who was recently in Sydney to launch the competition.
The Specsavers competition celebrates the individual beauty and confidence of those who wear glasses. Everyone who loves glasses and enjoys wearing them with style and confidence, whether you need them or just wear them as a fashion accessory, is encouraged to enter for their chance to be crowned Australia’s most stylish spec wearer for 2012.
As well as judging the Specsavers competition, Ms Hendricks will personally mentor this year’s winner at a photo shoot in Los Angeles.
The winner of Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year will receive a trip to Los Angeles and a 12 month modelling contract with SCOOP Model Management. The competition provides a great opportunity for gorgeous specs wearers to catch the eye of the modelling industry, and could help to fast-track their way to a successful career. The winner and finalists will each receive cash prizes as well as hair and makeup products from Wella and NP Set.
The competition is open to men and women aged 18 and over, who are either current specs wearers or wear glasses for fashion purposes. Entries are now open until Friday 25 January, 2013. Applicants should register online at www.facebook.com/SpecsaversAustralia.
